Training Humans, Helping Dogs
The Champion Farm Team
Edgar Hernandez
Human Trainer/Farm Manager
Edgar grew up in Mexico with a mother who loved dogs. He watched for years as she created a disciplined pack who worked as a team. Once in the United States, he created his own amazing pack; learned to speak English; and studied ways to help people. When he puts all of these talents together, he is able to create better relationships between humans and dogs, in multiple languages. In all of his spare time, he is a builder, farm manager, carpenter, painter, designer, and champion. Edgar has a pack of 8 unique dogs who help him help others.
Taylor Joy
Office Manager/Horse Trainer/MOM
Taylor fell in love with horses before she had a memory. After many years of exploring different equestrian disciplines, traveling the world as a tour guide, and graduating from college with a degree in Geology, Taylor received an opportunity to attend a two week horsemanship clinic with Melanie Smith Taylor and Robyn Miller. She planned to visit Holly Springs, Mississippi for just two weeks, and now she owns a farm and runs a business here. Taylor created the Equine Harmony program to help horses and their owners develop a better relationship.
Angelou
Yoda
9 years ago, Edgar rescued a tiny little puppy who was taken from his mom too early. Now, Angelou is the Yoda, the elder, the wise one. You can see pure love & happiness in his eyes. He is mostly retired now a days. Angelou prefers to sleep in as long as possible, step outside for quick potty breaks, and stay up late partying with his best friend, Edgar.
Marley
The Master
Marley was just another unlucky red/blue heeler, tied to a tree in a backyard, because he was “too much to handle”. Most of you are probably wondering if I’m talking about the same red heeler who cuddles you when you visit us. Yep, that teddy bear was once a WILD child. Edgar rescued him 6 years ago, and Marley has been his trusty shadow ever since. He is the dog everyone loves to be around. His calm, lovely energy is a great example of how wonderful a heeler can be.
Paloma
The Queen
My sister dogs, Paloma and Tigra, are literally my yin & yang. They could not be more different in physical appearance and energy. They were found 3 years ago wandering the streets, Paloma with a broken leg, and Tigra with a swollen eye from probably a pellet gun. Back then, they enjoyed killing chickens, fighting other dogs, and tearing up everything in the house. After over a year of working with them, they are the guardians of the chickens, head of the dog pack, and love being lazy in the house.

Valentino
Professional Dog Trainer
Around the same time we bought the farm, we decided it was time for me to get my own heeler. It took me a long time and a lot of research to find Valentino. Now I can’t imagine life without him. He is my best friend, my family, my shadow. He goes everywhere with me. Valentino helps his big brother Koa keep the dogs in line, babysits his little sister, and puts a smile on every visitors face.
Koa
Babysitter
The great, gentle giant, Koa. Koa changed our lives in a huge way. He set us on the path to rescue, rehabilitate, train and find champions. Koa was going to be euthanized in Florida for biting a person. He came to the farm for training, and became a part of the family. Now he’s the ultimate dog babysitter. He loves keeping everyone in line, making ridiculous sounds, cuddling on the couch, and chasing imaginary squirrels.
Twinkle Star
Trainer in Training
The newest member was a bit of a surprise. We had an opportunity to get Valentino’s sister, and we just couldn’t say no. Star was named because she is the STAR of the show. She takes this role very seriously. You can’t miss her gorgeous face, sparkling personality, and wild energy. She has become Edgar’s main helper at in home training sessions. She loves meeting new dogs, and showing off her skills to clients.
